CLEVELAND — While it remains to be seen how the Cleveland Browns' 2021 season will play out, at the very least, they know they'll be well represented at the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl.
Just ahead of Cleveland's Week 15 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders at FirstEnergy Stadium on Monday night, the NFL announced that five Browns players have been selected to the league's annual All-Star Game. The five Cleveland players heading to the Pro Bowl, which will be played at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 6, includes:
- Running back Nick Chubb
- Left guard Joel Bitonio (starter)
- Right guard Wyatt Teller
- Defensive end Myles Garrett (starter)
- Cornerback Denzel Ward
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, fullback Andy Janovich, center JC Tretter and left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. have each been selected as alternates and could be added to the AFC's Pro Bowl roster at a later date.
This year's selection marks the fourth straight for Bitonio, third straight for Chubb, third overall for Garrett and second overall for Ward. Meanwhile, Teller's Pro Bowl selection marks the first of his career.
While many have considered Cleveland's 7-7 record to be underwhelming, all five of the Browns' Pro Bowl selections have turned in exceptional individual seasons. Entering Monday night's game against the Raiders, Garrett ranks second in the NFL in sacks (15), with Chubb ranking fifth in rushing with 926 yards. Having last been selected to the Pro Bowl in 2018, Ward has totaled eight passes defenses and three interceptions, while Bitonio and Teller rank as Pro Football Focus' second and third-best guards this season.
