CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns were backed with some superhero star power during Sunday’s win against the Chicago Bears.
Northeast Ohio native and famed film director Joe Russo was spotted at FirstEnergy Stadium fully decked out in Browns gear. The team tweeted a picture of Russo standing at field level.
“CLE assemble!” the team posted on Twitter. “Cleveland native and Director Joe Russo is in the building for today’s game.”
In response, one fan tweeted a GIF of the Avengers assembling and compared it to the Browns’ defense.
Russo and his brother, Anthony, have become Hollywood icons having lensed some of Marvel’s biggest hits – including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. In 2013, the Russo brothers brought the Marvel team to Cleveland as they filmed portions of Captain America: Winter Soldier throughout the city for several weeks.
The Browns ultimately beat the Bears 26-6 as Myles Garrett made team history with 4.5 sacks. The Browns are on the road for the next two games against the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Charges.
