CLEVELAND — As the 2020 NFL Trade Deadline approaches, the Cleveland Browns possess the potential to be one of the league's more active teams. With that in mind, let's take a look at some potential trade targets for the Browns ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline.
Wide receivers
Will Fuller V, Houston Texans
A top-end speedster who may only be available because he's in the final year of his contract and the Texans are seemingly out of the playoff hunt. Would fill the void left by Odell Beckham Jr. as the Browns' No. 1 receiver.
Curtis Samuel, Carolina Panthers
Fast, versatile wideout who may not have a future in Carolina next to Robbie Anderson and D.J. Moore. Scored two touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) in the Panthers' Week 8 loss vs. the Atlanta Falcons.
Breshad Perriman, New York Jets
Caught 16 passes for 340 yards and 2 touchdowns in 10 games with Baker Mayfield in 2018. Has been dealing with a concussion, but could help replace Beckham's speed in the Browns' receiving corps.
John Ross III, Cincinnati Bengals
Former first-round pick and one of the fastest players in the NFL. Has been the odd man out in Cincinnati, which may not want to deal him within its own division.
Kenny Stills, Houston Texans
Not as dynamic as his teammate, Fuller, but could likely be had for a more affordable price. Could provide a dependable deep threat Cleveland's offense currently lacks.
Defensive ends
Leonard Williams, New York Giants
A versatile defensive lineman who possesses the ability to play both outside and inside in a 4-3 scheme. A 2016 Pro Bowl selection and the No. 6 pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Ryan Kerrigan, Washington Football Team
Washington's all-time sack leader who has reportedly requested a trade. While ESPN's Adam Schefter said Washington won't deal him, it makes sense to field offers for the pending free agent in a losing season.
Takkarist McKinley, Atlanta Falcons
According to Schefter, the Falcons are interested in trading the No. 26 pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. Has tallied 17.5 sacks in 49 career games.
John Simon, New England Patriots
Former Ohio State star who also possesses experience at linebacker. Has started 20 games in three seasons with the Patriots, including six this season.
Dawuane Smoot, Jacksonville Jaguars
Career reserve who could provide depth that the Browns currently lack at defensive end. Recorded six sacks despite not starting a game in 2019.
Linebackers
Avery Williamson, New York Jets
Has started 80 games over the course of seven seasons, for of which he's posted at least 92 tackles. Will likely be the most attractive linebacker on the trade market as he is in the final year of his contract and playing for the NFL's most obvious trade deadline seller.
Kevin Piere-Louis, Washington Football Team
Experienced outside linebacker who has recorded 42 tackles and two pass defenses in seven starts this season. Currently graded at 71.4 by Pro Football Focus.
Joe Thomas, Dallas Cowboys
Seven-year veteran currently in the final year of his contract. Has tallied 40 tackles (three for a loss) and two pass defenses in seven games (four starts) this season.
Cornerbacks
Bradley Roby, Houston Texans
Former Ohio State standout is currently in the first year of a 3-year, $31.5 million contract. Has recorded 25 pass defenses and four interceptions since becoming a full-time starter in 2018.
Logan Ryan, New York Giants
Experienced and versatile defensive back who's played in 116 games (91 starts) since 2013. Has served as the Giants' starting free safety, but the bulk of his experience has come at cornerback.
Brian Poole, New York Jets
Former undrafted free agent who's appeared in 68 games (36 starts) since 2016. Has posted five pass defenses and two interceptions in seven games with the Jets this season.
Safeties
Anthony Harris, Minnesota Vikings
Arguably the top player available on the trade market, Anthony Harris also happens to fill Cleveland's biggest need at free safety. Currently playing on a one-year franchise tag worth $11.4 million after recording an NFL-high six interceptions in 2019.
Justin Simmons, Denver Broncos
Like Harris, Justin Simmons is currently playing on a one-year franchise tag. A second-team All-Pro selection in 2019, Simmons has a history of playing under current Browns defensive coordinator Joe Woods.
Marcus Maye, New York Jets
A 2017 second-round pick who's started in all 45 games of his career, including seven this season. Not as accomplished as Harris or Simmons, but would still provide an upgrade in the Cleveland secondary.
