CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns are adding to a position of strength and staying busy in free agency under new general manager Andrew Berry.

On Tuesday night, multiple reports indicated the Browns have agreed to a two-year deal with veteran defensive end Adrian Clayborn. The 31-year-old played with the Atlanta Falcons last season, starting 15 games and recording four sacks, seven quarterback hits, two forces fumbles, and 18 tackles.

The two-year deal with the Browns is worth a reported $6 million, however it will not be official or announced by the team until Clayborn passes a physical.

Clayborn, a former Iowa Hawkeye, was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft back in 2011 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the No. 20 overall pick. After spending four seasons with Tampa Bay, he spent three seasons with the Falcons and won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots after the 2018 season. Clayborn returned to Atlanta last season.

In his career, Clayborn has started 52 of 110 games with 36.5 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries. He is expected to join a defensive line that already includes Myles Garrett, Olivier Vernon and Chad Thomas.
