CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns entered their Week 7 matchup vs. the Denver Broncos knowing they'd be without quarterback Baker Mayfield and running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. The same, however, can't be said for wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Just ahead of kickoff, the Browns announced that Beckham is officially active for Thursday night's game despite suffering a shoulder injury during Cleveland's Week 6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. While Beckham ultimately re-entered the game, he didn't practice throughout the week with CBS Sports and USA Today's Josina Anderson reporting that the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver suffered a Grade 3 AC joint sprain.
While Beckham will play vs. Denver, right tackle Jack Conklin will be inactive for Thursday night as the 2020 All-Pro selection will miss his second consecutive game due to a knee injury. But while Conklin will be sidelined, left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. will make his return to Cleveland's lineup after missing the Browns' past two games with an ankle injury. Blake Hance -- who started at left tackle in place of Wills -- will now start at right tackle on Thursday.
Earlier on Thursday, Cleveland officially activated Jarvis Landry from injured reserve after the five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver missed the past four games due to a sprained MCL he suffered in the Browns' Week 2 win over the Houston Texans. Landry's return should provide a boost to the Cleveland receiving corps with quarterback Case Keenum making his first start since 2019.
