Coming off their bye a week ago, the Cleveland Browns made a sizable change to their lineup when they removed Greg Robinson at left tackle in favor of Justin McCray.
As it turns out, the lineup switch was a one-week deal.
Despite McCray playing seemingly well in Cleveland's 27-13 loss to the New England Patriots last week, the Browns have reinserted Greg Robinson at left tackle for Sunday's matchup vs. the Denver Broncos. After starting in Cleveland's first six games of the season, in which he struggled with consistency and especially penalties, Robinson was benched last week for McCray, who had never previously played left tackle at the NFL level.
Robinson's reinsertion isn't the only change the Browns are making on their offensive line as Wyatt Teller will replace Eric Kush as the team's starting right guard. Kush had served as Cleveland's starting right guard for the first seven games of the season, but split time with Teller during last week's loss to New England.
“He did well," starting center JC Tretter said of Teller earlier this week. "I do not think it is too hard. Like I said before, we do that stuff in practice all the time. Obviously, you do not usually see it in a game, but it is something that is what our weekly practice is like where guys are rotating in and out. Really does not affect anybody else I feel like. He did well. He did some things. We got to watch the film, got to make some corrections but he is a young guy who is anxious to learn, anxious to grow and that is the attitude you need to have.”
The Browns acquired Teller in a trade with the Buffalo Bills prior to their final preseason game. A former fifth-round pick, Teller played in eight games -- including seven starts -- in his rookie season in 2018.
