The Browns' matchup with the Packers marks the second game of their 2021 schedule to have been revealed on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, the NFL revealed that Cleveland will face the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 1 on Sept. 12.
The NFL's full 2021 regular-season schedule will be revealed on Wednesday night.
The Browns' matchup with the Packers will mark their first 2017 and their first trip to Lambeau Field since 2013. Green Bay marks one of the most intriguing opponents on Cleveland's 2021 schedule, as the Packers are coming off a 2020 campaign that ended with a loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game.
Green Bay's roster, however, possesses the potential to look very different in the 2021 season following the news that reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers has reportedly requested a trade from the team. To this point, the Packers have yet to oblige their franchise quarterback's request, but Rodgers' situation remains one of the NFL's most intriguing storylines heading into the summer.
Cleveland, meanwhile, is coming off an 11-5 regular season in which it earned its first postseason victory since the 1994 season with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC divisional round.
