BALTIMORE — Editor's note: the video in the player above is from a previous story.
As the Cleveland Browns take the field for a pivotal AFC North matchup vs. the Baltimore Ravens in primetime, one of their top pass catchers will make his return to the lineup. Just ahead of their Week 12 showdown on Sunday Night Football, the Browns announced that wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones is active after missing last week's win over the Lions with a knee injury.
Peoples-Jone had previously missed two games earlier this season after suffering a groin injury in pregame warmups ahead of Cleveland's Week 7 win over the Denver Broncos. While Peoples-Jones returned to play against the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots, he reaggravated the injury in practice in the days leading up to Sunday's game vs. Detroit and was ultimately unable to play in the 13-10 Browns win.
Selected in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Peoples-Jones has enjoyed a strong second season in Cleveland. In eight games, the Michigan product has caught 16 passes for 330 yards and three touchdowns.
The return Peoples-Jones could prove significant for Cleveland, as rookie wide receiver Anthony Schwartz will miss a second straight game with a concussion. With Peoples-Jone back in the lineup, the Browns opted to make wide receiver Rashard Higgins, who has fallen out of the team's rotation, a healthy scratch.
The following players will be inactive for the Browns on Sunday:
- WR Anthony Schwartz
- FB Andy Janovich
- S Richard LeCounte III
- DE Ifeadi Odenigbo
- T James Hudson III
- WR Rashard Higgins
- DT Tommy Togiai
