Game preview
Now in the middle of a murkier AFC Playoff picture, the Browns enter Sunday's game looking to improve their place in the Wild Card race by advancing their record to 6-3. In Houston, Cleveland will be facing an opponent that's better -- and more talented -- than its 2-6 record indicates, as the Texans have played the NFL's third hardest schedule, according to Power Rankings Guru's composite score.
In Deshaun Watson, the Browns will attempt to contain what is arguably the best quarterback they've faced all season since their Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Fortunately for Cleveland, its roster is the healthiest it's been all season, with Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb possessing the potential to return to action after missing the Browns' past four games with an MCL sprain.
Prediction
Chubb's availability and unknown impact on this game makes it a difficult one to pick. While the Browns are a more even team, the Texans have a higher upside, at least on the offensive side of the ball where Watson is still one of the game's top signal-callers.
Like many of Cleveland's games this season, a shootout seems likely. I'll take the team with the more proven quarterback in what could be one of Sunday's most exciting showdowns.
Final score: Texans 35, Browns 31
