BEREA, Ohio — It was back to the practice field Tuesday morning in Berea for the guys in orange helmets as training camp continued at 76 Lou Groza Blvd.
The Cleveland Browns are just 19 days away from kicking off Week 1 of the NFL season in Baltimore against the Ravens. Let's recap the very latest from Day 9 of Browns training camp:
ANOTHER INJURY
The injury bug has certainly made its way to Berea, where the Browns have been dealing with several ailments to key players. That includes rookie safety Grant Delpit, who will miss the upcoming season with a torn Achilles tendon.
On Tuesday, defensive Chad Thomas left practice early with a neck injury.
"Very disappointed for Grant," head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "He is disappointed, but I think he has the right mindset to bounce back. Unfortunate to see that, but we are fully supporting him, and then we will make sure that he attacks his rehab."
OBJ SIGHTING
Star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. met with the media for the first time since camp kicked off. OBJ, who underwent surgery over the off-season, admitted he's feeling much better heading into 2020.
"Definitely feeling a lot better than last year. Really had a great offseason as far as preparation and work," Beckham said. "Just thankful to be able to be back out there and practice and do the things that I love. Most importantly, just taking it one day at a time, finding a way to attack and win each day and just be 1-0.”
OUT DUE TO INJURY
The following players did not practice today due to injury: LB Adrian Clayborn (groin), LB Tae Davis (illness), S Grant Delpit (Achilles), WR KhaDarel Hodge (personal), CB Kevin Johnson (liver), CB Terrance Mitchell (knee), TE David Njoku (wrist), WR Damion Ratley (groin). CB M.J. Stewart Jr. (hamstring), C JC Tretter (knee), CB Greedy Williams (shoulder), and LB Mack Wilson (knee).
