Preview:

Heading into Sunday's contest, there is finally clarity on the quarterback matchup we will see.

Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Friday that Deshaun Watson is slated to make his return after dealing with a strained rotator cuff injury that he suffered on Sept. 24 when the team beat the Titans.

Watson, who practiced three days this week, admitted that he previously "jumped the gun" when he came back against the Colts earlier in October.

For the past week, the Cardinals also have faced quarterback uncertainties.

Cardinals coach and Northeast Ohio native Jonathan Gannon is expected to turn to rookie quarterback Clayton Tune on Sunday, who is making his first NFL start. Tune's expected start comes after the trade of QB Joshua Dobbs and as the team awaits Kyler Murray's return from an ACL tear that happened in December 2022.

Despite the absence of Watson, the Browns have figured out a way to still be atop the race for the AFC North.

The Browns' explosive defense led by Myles Garrett ranks first in the NFL, allowing just 260 yards per game. Additionally, the Browns rank first against the pass, allowing only 163.3 yards per game. The Browns' defense should be able to take advantage of a Cardinals offense that has been averaging only 180.9 yards per game. However, the Cardinals rank fourth in the NFL in rushing yards per game with 137.8.

Sunday's game also gives a chance for the Browns' receiving game to step up as the Cardinals have allowed 225.1 passing yards per game throughout the season.
