While the Browns were officially eliminated from postseason contention with their Week 16 loss to the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland still enters its 2022 regular-season finale with plenty to play for. Most notably, the Browns can officially end the playoff hopes of their rivals, the Steelers, who enter Sunday's game needing a win and some help to advance to the postseason for a third consecutive season.
What's more is that with Pittsburgh possessing an 8-8 record, a Cleveland victory would hand Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin the first losing season of his career. A Browns win would also mark the first time they have completed a multi-game sweep of the Steelers since 1988 after Cleveland previously beat Pittsburgh in Week 3 earlier this season.
In addition to trying to one-up their rivals, the Browns will look to continue to build on quarterback Deshaun Watson's strong second-half performance vs. the Commanders last week. The game will also mark the first time that Cleveland has faced Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett, who has made strides in the latter half of his rookie campaign.
