Preview

The Cleveland Browns have had an extremely disappointing season, and they seem to have given up on the 2024 season.

While the Bengals' start to the season hasn't been as disappointing as Cleveland's, they are still struggling to climb out of the basement of the AFC North.

When the teams take to the field on Sunday for the battle of Ohio, the Browns will get a boost that the whole city of Cleveland has been waiting for: The return of star RB Nick Chubb. Chubb was officially activated off the physically unable to perform list on Saturday. Safety Juan Thornhill will also return from injured reserve after injuring his calf in Week 1.

Chubb began practicing with the team on Oct. 2 after being sidelined during Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season after suffering a knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The return of the University of Georgia product will likely electrify fans, hopefully giving them a glimpse of hope that this team desperately needs in a time like this.

After going 1-5, the Browns traded away WR Amari Cooper, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, to the Buffalo Bills. Watson and Cooper struggled to get on the same page this season, with Cooper only having 24 catches for 250 yards in the first six games.

The pressure is now on WRs Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore as the Browns look to eclipse a game with 20 points or 300 yards for the first time this season.

QB Deshaun Watson remains at the bottom of the league, being sacked a league-high 31 times. He also possesses one of the lowest completion rates in the NFL, at a mere 61.3%.

While it wasn't pretty, the Bengals are coming off of momentum after grabbing a win in Week 6, beating the New York Giants 17-7 during "Sunday Night Football."

Now, QB Joe Burrow heads into Cleveland hungry, looking for his first win on the road against the Browns. He is currently 0-3 in Cleveland.

Despite the Bengals' record, Burrow comes into Sunday's contest with 1,578 passing yards, ranking fifth in the league. He also boasts a 71.6% completion rate, ranking second in the NFL just behind Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels.

As Cincinnati starts to recover from its slow start to the season, Burrow will likely rely upon one of the league's top receivers, Ja'Marr Chase.

The 24-year-old has already had a successful season to date, ranking second in the NFL with 565 receiving yards.
