Preview
Eight months after the Browns acquired Watson in a blockbuster trade, the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback will suit up for Cleveland for the first time -- doing so against his former team.
After serving an 11-game suspension following several allegations of sexual misconduct, including harassment and assault, Watson will make his Browns debut in what will mark his first start since Jan. 3, 2021. The Clemson product's return couldn't have come at a better time for Cleveland, which at 4-7 remains in the hunt for a playoff spot -- but has little margin for error moving forward.
The NFL's leading passer in 2020, Watson is expected to bring a dynamic to Cleveland's offense that has otherwise been lacking since the Browns' return to the NFL in 1999. And while the 27-year-old signal-caller could have some rust as it's been nearly two years since his most recent NFL start, he couldn't have asked for a better opponent -- from a football standpoint -- than the lowly Texans.
