CLEVELAND — Juan Thornhill has yet to play in his first game as a member of the Cleveland Browns.
But the veteran safety already has a permanent connection to his new team.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, the Browns' official account revealed that Thornhill has added a tattoo of the team's alternate logo, 'Brownie the Elf,' to his collection of body ink. The new tattoo is displayed prominently on the front of Thornhill's left arm, next to the logo of his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as a tattoo featuring the NFL logo and the selection with which he was drafted in 2019 (No. 63 overall).
The 27-year-old Thornhill spent the first four years of his NFL career in Kansas City, where he was a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams (2019, 2022). After becoming an unrestricted free agent following the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory over the Philadelphia Eagles this past season, he signed a three-year, $21 million contract with the Browns, who were looking to add a veteran deep safety to help anchor new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz's defense.
Since signing with Cleveland, Thornhill -- who will wear No. 1 with the Browns -- has been active on social media, routinely interacting with members of his new team's fanbase.
“The Browns fans have been amazing," he told reporters in March. "They have been messaging me. They have been showing all of their support since the day that the announcement came out. I am super excited about it because I have heard many good things about the Dawg Pound. The fans out here are crazy, and that is what I love to be a part of. When I come out of that tunnel, I want the fans to jack me up and make me ready to run through a wall. That is what I hear about Cleveland, and I am excited.”
