Cleveland Browns rookie DT Mike Hall Jr. involved in alleged domestic incident in Avon: What we know

The alleged incident happened in Avon on Monday night.

AVON, Ohio — An investigation is underway following an alleged domestic violence incident involving Cleveland Browns rookie Mike Hall Jr.

According to Avon police, the incident happened on Monday night. The victim signed a domestic violence complaint against Hall.

A spokesperson for Avon police told 3News' partner Cleveland.com that the 21-year-old was arrested on Tuesday morning on a domestic violence charge.

During an arraignment hearing, Hall pleaded not guilty and a personal bond of $10,000 was set. He will appear in Avon Lake Municipal Court on Sept. 10.

The Cleveland Browns released the following statement to 3News on Tuesday morning:

"We are aware of the incident involving Mike Hall, Jr. last night. Mike and his representatives have been in touch with the appropriate authorities. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at the time."

A detailed incident report obtained by the AP said officers responded to a call at 10 p.m. Monday night from a woman who claimed that Hall had pushed her daughter and struck her with a baby bottle.

According to the incident report, the woman said Hall, had thrown her belongings outside and dragged her along a porch and driveway. At one point, the woman said Hall put a gun to her temple and said, “I will (expletive) end it all.”

The woman did not seek medical treatment.

Hall locked the woman out of the house and left in a pickup truck, according to the report.

Police said they found evidence including a damaged door frame and a hole in a door the woman said Hall had punched. Officers also seized two handguns — a .40-caliber Glock and a 9mm Smith & Wesson.

During the 2024 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Hall, an Ohio State defensive tackle and Streetsboro native.

Hall was a legend for the Rockets, who led the program to an 11-1 season and its first-ever playoff win as a junior in 2019, tallying 17 tackles for loss and five sacks in the process. In three years with the Buckeyes, he was a two-time third-team All-Big Ten selection, finishing his college career with 10 tackles for loss and six sacks.
