CLEVELAND — Fresh off of a dominant 2023-24 regular season that saw him blossom into perhaps the best defensive player in the NFL, Myles Garrett won Professional Athlete of the Year honors at the 2024 Greater Cleveland Sports Awards.
Garrett took the award for the second time in his career (2021) over the Cleveland Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell and Guardians' Josh Naylor. Though the Browns season didn't end the way anyone had hoped or anticipated, Garrett's individual accomplishments this past season are undeniable.
Myles totaled:
- 14 sacks
- 24 tackles
- 17 tackles for loss
- 30 QB hits
- 4 forced fumbles
- Named first-team All-Pro
- Pro Bowl selection
Garrett's impressive career accomplishments continue:
- Seventh player in NFL history with 10 or more sacks in six consecutive seasons (only active player currently)
- Passed Reggie White for most sacks by a player prior to turning 28 years old (87)
Garrett takes the title of Cleveland's top professional athlete from José Ramírez, who won the award at last year's ceremony.
