CLEVELAND — After the first 31 picks were made on Thursday night, the 2023 NFL Draft will continue on Friday with the second and third rounds.
After not having a selection in the first round on Thursday, the Cleveland Browns are scheduled to make two selections in the third round with picks No. 74 and 98.
With that in mind, here are some prospects the Browns could be targeting when it comes time for Cleveland to make its picks.
Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina
Despite his size (5-foot-9, 171 pounds), Josh Downs is the type of athletic and productive (195 receptions, 2,364 yards, 19 touchdowns in the last two seasons) wide receiver prospect that Cleveland covets. The 2-time All-ACC selections' ability as a slot receiver could allow the Browns to be more versatile in their use of Elijah Moore.
Zach Harrison, Edge, Ohio State
A former 5-star prospect, Zach Harrison was somewhat of a late-bloomer at Ohio State but possesses an athletic skillset that would appeal to Cleveland. The 6-foot-6, 272-pound prospect would add immediate depth and versatility to the Browns' defensive line and could be a long-term running mate for Myles Garrett.
Jammie Robinson, S, Florida State
Jammie Robinson doesn't necessarily possess the kind of athleticism the Browns often prioritize, but his production and versatility would make him a valuable addition to Cleveland's secondary. The 2-time All-ACC selection possesses the ability to play safety or in the slot and was one of the prospects the Browns brought in for an official pre-draft visit.
Rashee Rice, WR, SMU
At 23 years old, Rashee Rice is older than Cleveland often prefers its prospects to be, but considering the Browns are looking to contend in 2023, that may not be the worst thing. At 6-foot-1 and 204 pounds, Rice would give Cleveland quarterback Deshaun Watson a big-bodied target and his production in 2022 (96 receptions for 1,355 yards and 10 touchdowns) is difficult to ignore
Gervon Dexter Sr., DT, Florida
Even after signing Dalvin Tomlinson, defensive tackle remains a need for the Browns. Multiple mock drafts have pegged Cleveland to select Florida's Gervon Dexter Sr., who despite being raw, possesses plenty of upside.
