Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield hosting inaugural local youth football camp this weekend

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield will host a two-day youth football camp at Mayfield High School this weekend.

Mayfield has come to Mayfield.

This weekend, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is hosting his first youth football camp in Northeast Ohio, appropriately doing so at Mayfield High School. The two-day affair will run from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday and is open to boys and girls grade 1-8.

"Throughout the two-day camp, Baker Mayfield and our coaches will offer tips and hands-on instruction, including lectures, fundamental football skills stations, contests, and non-contact games in a high-energy, fun, and positive environment," an advertisement for the camp on ProCamps.com reads.
"Campers will be placed in small groups by age to ensure that each child gets maximum instruction. The camp will be staffed by some of the area's top high school and college coaches."

Spots for the camp are still available and cost $249 per spot, with group rates also available. Per the Pro Camps website, each attendee at the camp will receive:

  • a souvenir autograph from Mayfield (item provided – outside items not permitted)
  • a camp team photo with Mayfield
  • a limited-edition Baker Mayfield Football ProCamp t-shirt
  • a Game On Mouthguard ($25 value)

Additional upgrades to packages are available via the Pro Camps website.

The No. 1 pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, Mayfield enjoyed a standout rookie season in Cleveland, completing 63.8 percent of his passes for 3,725 yards and an NFL rookie record 27 touchdown passes while leading the Browns to their best record in 11 years (7-8-1). Heading into his second season with the team, the former Heisman Trophy winner is already considered one football's brightest young stars and is one of the biggest reasons why Cleveland finds itself favored to win the AFC North for the first time in recent memory.
