CLEVELAND -- Quarterback Baker Mayfield has yet to throw a pass in a preseason or regular-season game with the Cleveland Browns, but rapidly, he is gaining in popularity.
According to Dick’s Sporting Goods’ Jersey Report, Mayfield has the NFL’s 10th best-selling jersey over the last week.
Currently, Mayfield ranks ahead of players like quarterbacks Andrew Luck (Indianapolis Colts), Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks), Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) and Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints), wide receivers Antonio Brown (Pittsburgh Steelers), Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons) and A.J. Green (Cincinnati Bengals), and defensive end J.J. Watt (Houston Texans) among many other Pro Bowl players.
In addition to being among the NFL’s top 10, Mayfield ranks third in his rookie class, behind only New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, currently the league’s top jersey-seller, and New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold.

Chosen with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound Mayfield put together a Heisman Trophy-winning campaign where he completed 285 of his 404 throws (70.5 percent) for 4,627 yards and 43 touchdowns against just six interceptions to cap off a four-year career that started at Texas Tech University.
During his three years at Oklahoma and one season with the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Mayfield completed 1,026 of his 1,497 attempts (68.5 percent) for 14,607 yards and 131 touchdowns against only 30 interceptions.
Along with Mayfield, the Browns are represented in the top 50 by defensive end Myles Garrett and wide receiver Jarvis Landry.
Garrett ranks 37th among all NFL players in jersey sales.
Despite being limited to 11 games because of ankle injuries and a concussion, Garrett registered 31 total tackles, including 19 solo stops and 12 assists, along with a Browns-best seven sacks and one pass defended during the 2017 season.
Because of that production, Garrett was named to the Pro Football Writers’ Association All-Rookie Team.
Landry rose 80 spots over the last week and reached No. 41 among all NFL players in jersey sales.
Over his four-year career with the Dolphins, Landry turned 400 catches into 4,038 yards and 22 touchdowns. He averaged 10.1 yards per catch and 63.1 yards per game to go along with 38 catches of at least 20 yards, seven 40-yard plays and 220 first downs.
The 5-foot-11, 208-pound Landry has two 110-catch seasons (2015, 2017) and two 1,100-yard years (2015, 2016) on his resume.
In 2015, Landry set a then-career high with 110 catches, which he turned into 1,157 yards and four touchdowns and averaged a personal-best 72.3 yards per game. He followed that up with a 94-catch, 1,136-yard, four-touchdown showing in 2016.
Last season, the Metairie, Louisiana native and Louisiana State product caught a career-high 112 passes for 987 yards and a personal-best nine touchdown receptions.
After joining the Browns through a trade from the Miami Dolphins in the first few hours of the new league year in March, Landry reached a contract extension worth a reported $75 million over the next five years with a $7.5 million signing bonus.
Currently, the Browns rank No. 10 among the NFL’s 32 teams in jersey sales. At the end of the 2017 season, the Browns ranked 27th in the league in sales.
