CLEVELAND — Deshaun Watson won't officially be introduced as the Cleveland Browns' quarterback until Friday. But the three-time Pro Bowl selection didn't have to wait that long to check out his new digs.
On Thursday night, Watson was spotted taking a tour of FirstEnergy Stadium along with a pair of his new teammates in second-year cornerback Greg Newsome II and linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. Owusu-Koramoah, who is coming off of a standout rookie season, documented the gathering on his Instagram story, posting a picture of Watson donning an orange Browns throwback Starter jacket, which was made in collaboration with Columbus-based apparel company, Homage.
The 26-year-old Watson's tour of FirstEnergy Stadium came just hours after a grand jury in Brazoria County, Texas, declined to indict the former Houston Texans quarterback on sexual misconduct charges. Earlier this month, a grand jury in Harris County, Texas, declined to pursue nine charges against Watson, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by 22 women in the Houston area.
Cleveland acquired Watson in a blockbuster trade with the Texans last week, sending Houston three first-round picks, a 2022 fourth-round pick, a 2023 third-round pick and a 2024 pick swap in exchange for the NFL's 2020 passing leader.
On Friday, the Browns will officially introduce Watson, alongside general manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski, at a press conference at the team's headquarters in Berea at 1 p.m. ET. At 3 p.m. ET, Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam will meet with reporters via a Zoom press conference.
WKYC will carry both press conferences live, in addition to streaming them on WKYC.com.
