Cleveland Browns make roster changes ahead of Sunday game against Cincinnati Bengals

The Browns have signed running back Benny LeMay and offensive tackle Alex Taylor to the practice squad.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns have made a number of roster moves leading up to the season finale this weekend at First Energy Stadium against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The team announced on Thursday that it has signed running back Benny LeMay and offensive tackle Alex Taylor to the practice squad.

LeMay has never appeared in an NFL regular season game, but did sign with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Charlotte back in 2020. He spent some time on the Browns’ practice squad last season and was with the Indianapolis Colts during training camp this summer.

As for Taylor, he was also signed as an undrafted free agent in 2020 by the Browns. However, he has appeared in three career games in the NFL, two of them coming this season and the other coming Week 17 last season for the Browns against Pittsburgh. Taylor has played a total of 10 snaps in his NFL career, all of which coming on special teams. He previously spent time with the Chicago Bears this season, but did not see the field.

On Thursday, the Browns also released offensive tackle Elijah Nkansah from the practice squad and placed kicker Chris Blewitt on the practice squad/COVID-19 list. Nkansah has never appeared in a game with the Browns, but the former Toledo Rockets offensive lineman previously spent time with Seattle and Houston. Blewitt also hasn’t played for the Browns, but was signed as insurance late in the season as the Browns have dealt with place kicking woes.
