CLEVELAND — With the NFL Draft already in the books, teams around the league are filling out the rest of their rosters with undrafted free agents. On Tuesday the Cleveland Browns announced the signing of 15 undrafted free agents, highlighted by Oklahoma State cornerback A.J. Green and Colorado wide receiver Tony Brown.
The group of undrafted free agents is made up of eight offensive players and seven defensive players. The positions include four defensive backs, a pair of defensive linemen, running backs, offensive linemen and wide receivers, as well as a single linebacker, quarterback and tight end.
The team’s virtual rookie minicamp will run from Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10.
Green, 21, played in 40 games with 147 tackles, six interceptions, 21 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one interception returned for a touchdown. As a senior in 2019, Green was a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, which is presented to the nation’s top defensive back. Green was a second team All-Big 12 honoree as voted by the Associated Press.
Brown, 22, played in 47 career games, including his first two seasons at Texas Tech. Between Texas Tech and Colorado, Brown totaled 114 receptions for 1,409 yards and seven touchdowns in his college career, while posting 87 receptions for 1,031 yards and seven touchdowns (six receiving, one rushing) at Colorado. Brown also tied a team-high with 56 receptions for 707 yards and five touchdowns as a redshirt senior in 2019.
