By the time the 2018 season came to an end, Greg Robinson had solidified himself as the Cleveland Browns' starting left tackle.

It now appears that Robinson will remain in that role for at least another year.

According to his agents, Neil Schwartz and Jonathan Feinsod, the 26-year-old Robinson has agreed to a one-year contract to remain with the Browns. The No. 2 pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, Robinson arrived in Cleveland last summer after three seasons with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams and a one-year stint with the Detroit Lions.

Although he initially began the 2018 campaign in a reserve role, Robinson appeared in all 16 games for the Browns last season -- including starts in the final eight. His strong play at left tackle came at a much-needed time for the Browns, following the retirement of Joe Thomas who served as the team's starter at the position from 2007-17.

Following the season, Cleveland general manager John Dorsey said that re-signing Robinson would be one of the team's top priorities in the upcoming offseason.

“I have a lot of respect for those guys," Dorsey said of Robinson and wide receiver Breshad Perriman, who is also a free agent. "Would I like to have them back? You bet.”

The short-term nature of Robinson's deal could having interesting draft implications for Cleveland, which lays claim to the No. 17 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. In addition to Robinson, the Browns also possess second-year player Desmond Harrison, who started the first eight games of the 2018 campaign before an injury opened the door for Robinson to revive his career.
