Preview

The Browns and Raiders enter Week 4 after embarrassing losses last week to previously winless teams, the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers, respectively.

As both teams look to get back into the win column, they will each look to make much-needed improvements on both sides of the ball.

There was a slight glimpse of hope from the Browns' 21-15 loss to the Giants as wide receiver Amari Cooper tallied two touchdowns after a slow start to the season. However, QB Deshaun Watson's struggles continued as he was sacked a whopping eight times. Part of that can be blamed on an offensive line that has been plagued with injuries.

Wyatt Teller was one of three offensive linemen hurt against the Giants. The three-time Pro Bowler sustained a strained medial collateral ligament when he got rolled up on while blocking on a field-goal attempt. With Teller being placed on the IR, rookie Zak Zinter is expected to start.

On Friday, Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski also ruled out left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr., tackle Jack Conklin, tight end David Njoku and RB Pierre Strong Jr.

At the start of the season, the Raiders' defense was supposed to be one of the team's strengths. However, the team has been battling injuries. Edge rusher Malcolm Koonce and safety Marcus Epps both have suffered season-ending injuries. In addition, the Raiders' star edge rusher, Maxx Crosby, is out for Sunday's game dealing with a high-ankle sprain. Wide receiver Davante Adams, who injured his hamstring in practice Thursday, was also ruled out.

Cleveland is also dealing with its fair share of injuries on the defensive side as 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett will likely attempt to play on Sunday despite dealing with injuries to his feet, Achilles tendon and thigh.

Sunday presents the Browns with an opportunity to finally find chemistry and offensive momentum. So far this season, the Browns' offense has simply not been able to attack the opposing defense. Watson has been sacked 16 times, the most of any quarterback this season. In addition, he is only completing 57.8% of his passes.

The Browns need to take advantage of the Raiders, who are allowing 378.7 total yards per game.

Considering both teams' strong defenses, this game is likely to be low-scoring. In addition, Raiders WR Davante Adams was added to the injury report on Thursday after being limited at practice.
