Over the course of his five years playing in New York, Odell Beckham Jr. established himself as one of the most fashionable athletes in all of football.
So when it came time for the Cleveland Browns star wide receiver to make his return to the Big Apple, it only seemed natural that he'd do so with some extra flare on his feet.
Continuing a trend he started in Week 1, Beckham will be wearing a different pair of customized cleats inspired by his own shoe collection in both pregame warmups and during Monday night's matchup between the Browns and New York Jets.
For pregame warmups in his former home stadium, Beckham will be wearing a purple and gold-colored version of his Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 3 OBJ Uptempo cleats, inspired by the "Fresh Prince: Friend and Family" colorway of the Air Jordan 5.
Come game time, the 26-year-old Beckham will switch into a black-and-orange pair of his signature cleats, which are inspired by the Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard' colorway.
Last week, it was revealed that Beckham had been collaborating with Nike designer Erin Cochrane to come up with custom colorways for his cleats inspired directly from his sneaker closet.
“This season we wanted to bring Odell’s off-the-field style into the stadium every week by taking a look at his sneaker closet for a source of inspiration,” said Cochrane. “We worked closely with Odell to incorporate his favorite sneaker designs from the Nike vault onto his player edition Vapor Untouchable Pro 3 OBJ Uptempo cleat week by week.”
Last week, Beckham began his new-look cleat collection with a pair of Air Yeezy 2-inspired glow in the dark cleats for pregame and quilted orange in-game cleats inspired by Don C's Air Jordan 2. Neither, however, garnered as much attention as his $190,000 Richard Mille RM 11-03 McLaren watch did.
