CLEVELAND — When Wednesday’s news broke that quarterback Deshaun Watson will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, the oddsmaker's faith in the Cleveland Browns shifted immensely.
As the Browns turn to rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson to keep their playoff hopes alive, 3News is breaking down the Cleveland Browns' futures betting odds.
Following the news of Watson, the Browns' chances of winning the Super Bowl went from +3000 to +4500, while their chances of winning the AFC Championship shifted from +1300 to +2000.
Cleveland’s odds to win the AFC North also plummeted, going from +230 to +450. According to DraftKings, the Browns are now the fourth favorite in the division, behind the Ravens (-115), Bengals (+400) and Steelers (+425).
Additionally, for Week 11 when the Browns take on the 6-3 Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC North contest, the line has moved from -4 Browns to the Browns being only a 1-point favorite according to DraftKings.
However, there is still some good news for Browns fans. DraftKings has the Browns still favored to make the playoffs at -190. Additionally, according to ESPN's NFL Football Power Index, the Browns have a 68.5% chance of making the playoffs and a 19.4% chance of winning the AFC North.
