On Sunday, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry will try to be a nightmare for the Cincinnati Bengals' secondary.
Taking the field for pregame warmups, the 5-time Pro Bowl selection did his best to speak that very notion into existence.
With Halloween now less than a week away, Landry showed off some holiday spirit with his pregame cleats. Paying homage to the 1984 slasher film A Nightmare on Elm Street, Landry donned brown cleats that depicted Freddy Krueger, along with the phrase "One, two, Freddy's coming for you."
Landry's cleats were designed and produced by custom footwear maker Mache, who also made the Chadwick Boseman tribute cleats the Browns' wideout wore earlier this year.
Now playing in his 103rd career game, Landry revealed earlier this week that he's been dealing with a broken rib since the Browns' Week 5 win over the Indianapolis Colts. The injury has reduced by the LSU product's availability in practice, but Landry -- who's never missed a game in his seven-year career -- has insisted on playing through it.
"It hurts, it hurts, it hurts," said Landry, who has caught 24 passes for 319 yards this season. "But we've done a good job of making sure I'm getting the protection here throughout the week and making sure that I can cover it up and do whatever I need to do to play on Sundays."
