Pittsburgh Steelers favored to land J.J. Watt; Browns have 10th best odds

Three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt received his release from the Houston Texans on Friday.

After J.J. Watt requested -- and received -- his release from the Houston Texans on Friday, fans across the NFL found themselves wondering whether their teams would be in the running to sign the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

But when it comes to the betting odds, a clear frontrunner has emerged, with PointsBet (via the Action Network) listing the Pittsburgh Steelers as a +150 favorite to land Watt in his upcoming free agency.

That Pittsburgh would be considered Watt hardly comes as a surprise, as he has not one, but two brothers, currently on the Steelers roster. In addition to giving J.J. the chance to team with linebacker T.J. Watt and fullback Derek Watt, Pittsburgh's status as a consistent AFC contender could make the Steelers an attractive option for the 31-year-old defensive lineman.

That seems to be a common theme with Watt's free agency odds with the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+400) and Green Bay Packers (+400) possessing the next best odds followed by the Baltimore Ravens (+600) and Chicago Bears (+700). Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are listed as a relative long shot at +1400 -- the 10th-best odds of any team.
