CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns are hosting a quarterback workout on Friday morning following Wednesday's news of Deshaun Watson's season-ending shoulder injury.
According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, former Super Bowl MVP and Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is among those present.
The 38-year-old, who is now a free agent, is no stranger to the AFC North after spending 11 seasons with the Ravens, leading them to a Super Bowl in 2012.
Following a successful run in Baltimore, Flacco spent the 2019 season in Denver and three seasons with the Jets. The veteran quarterback owns a 37-27 all-time record against AFC North teams.
Throughout his illustrious 15-year career, Flacco has thrown for 42,320 yards, 232 touchdowns and 147 interceptions. In 2022, Flacco played in five games for the Jets, throwing for 1,051 yards and five touchdowns.
Currently, the Cleveland Browns are turning to rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson as the team takes on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a pivotal Week 11 game.
Earlier this week, Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry said that they plan on adding an additional quarterback at some point this season.
"As with any part of the roster, we are always open to anything that helps improve the team," Berry said. "We do believe in carrying three quarterbacks between the active and practice squad. What that distribution looks like really depends on the player. The one thing I will share is that we will add a quarterback at some point in the near future. What that looks like will be to be determined."
