CLEVELAND — Joe Thomas made history on Thursday night, becoming the first Cleveland Browns player selected for the Pro Football Hall of Fame since 1999.
Now, this Saturday, Browns fans can watch the exact moment when Thomas found out he was selected as an inductee for the Hall of Fame's Class of 2023.
In the preview, which can be viewed below, Thomas is seen answering the door with his family members at his side.
"Thank you so much. Oh my gosh, give me a hug. That is the best news I have ever heard, not just today, but ever" said Thomas after receiving the "knock" from Walter Jones.
Hall of Fame Knocks: Welcome to Canton debuts on Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. on the NFL Network.
During the episode, members of the Class of 2023 will be shown receiving the emotional news alongside their family members.
During the NFL Honors awards show, 38-year-old Thomas was named as a first-ballot selection following a career with the Cleveland Browns. Thomas was named to 10 consecutive Pro Bowls (2007-16) and earned six first-team and two second-team All-Pro selections, all while playing an NFL record 10,363 consecutive offensive snaps before a torn triceps ended his 2017 season — and ultimately his career.
"The journey tells the story of my career, and I wouldn't change anything," Thomas declared. "As a Cleveland Brown — being the first Brown inducted since the team came back — it's really special for me, because that franchise has endured some really tough times, but those fans are so loyal and passionate and they still show up, and it still is their identity."
The former left tackle will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 5.
