When Lamar Jackson found Marquise Brown for a 44-yard touchdown pass on fourth down to give the Baltimore Ravens a 42-35 lead with 1:51 remaining in the game, it appeared that the Cleveland Browns were headed for an all-too-familiar fate.
Not quite.
Despite there being less than two minutes remaining in the game and facing one of the NFL's best defenses, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield managed to answer back, leading Cleveland on a 4-play, 75-yard touchdown drive. Mayfield capped the drive with a 22-yard touchdown pass to running back Kareem Hunt, with a successful Cody Parkey extra point attempt tying the game at 42.
The touchdown pass marked Mayfield's second of the game and third total score of the fourth quarter. On Cleveland's prior offensive drive, the No. 1 pick of the 2018 NFL draft scored on a 5-yard touchdown run, with a Parkey extra point giving the Browns a 35-34 lead.
After Jackson answered back, Mayfield managed to do the same. Now the question remains whether or not Cleveland left the Ravens too much time.
Laying claim to a 9-3 record, the Browns are looking to solidify their status as the AFC Wild Card frontrunner, while also gaining a game on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North. Meanwhile, the 7-5 Ravens are fighting for their postseason life, having already been eliminated in the AFC North race.
