'There's something I appreciated about the hopelessness in their eyes.' Mike Polk Jr. on Ravens fans losing to Browns

Mike Polk Jr. breaks down his three takeaways from Sunday's Cleveland Browns victory against the Baltimore Ravens.

CLEVELAND — There were obviously a lot of things to like about that Browns game. I will give you my top three.

#3: Nick Chubb. This was his coming out party. That’s good and it’s also bad. He no longer gets to be our little secret. We have to share him with the world. This is the week that he’ll start to be recognized as what he probably is: The best running back in the game right now. I think. Pretty sure.

#2: The fact that we pulled that off without huge contributions from our two marquee players on offense and defense. Myles Garrett and Odell Beckham Jr. were statistically pretty quiet in this game. The reason that we were able to be so successful had a lot to do with the fact that those two were double teamed, and that opened up opportunities for other people. I’m looking at you, Ricky Seals-Jones, who’s name no one knew before this week. Be honest. Think of all the Ricky Seals-Joneses from the Browns past who never had their opportunity to have their day in the sun because there was no one ever worth double teaming on the Browns prior to this year. Poor Syndric Steptoe never got that chance.

Then of course my #1 favorite thing about the game was obviously watching all of those Baltimore Ravens fans walk sadly, slowly out of their own stadium with like 10 minutes left to go in the game because they knew that all was lost. I felt that same feeling countless times in my own stadium when Baltimore would come into town and beat us like a drum in our own house. I’ve been going to those games long enough to remember watching them beat us with members of our own team that they stole from us. There was something extra special I appreciated about the hopelessness in their eyes. Go Browns!
