Last week, Myles Garrett made headlines when he turned the front yard of his house into a quarterback graveyard ahead of Halloween.
On Sunday, however, the All-Pro defensive end learned that one of the quarterbacks he had commemorated in his display was very much alive.
After completing 20 of his 30 pass attempts for 229 yards and four touchdowns in the Arizona Cardinals' 37-14 win over the Browns on Sunday, Kyler Murray joined Garrett at midfield for a postgame chat that was captured by NFL Films. And while the former No. 1 overall picks were friendly with one another, Murray also made a point to ask Garrett about his inclusion in the quarterback graveyard.
"Why you got me in the graveyard, dog?" Murray asked Garrett, who he played with at Texas A&M in 2015 before transferring to Oklahoma.
"I need some added motivation," Garrett replied with a smile.
"At least mine [tombstone] didn't have 'R.I.P.' over it," Murray added.
"True," Garrett said. "Especially not tonight. You balled, boy."
Last week, Garrett explained the thinking behind his viral Halloween decorations, which in addition to Murray, included tombstones for other quarterbacks the Browns will or have already faced this season, including Ben Roethlisberger, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Justin Fields and Mac Jones.
"I'm kind of a troll a little bit, and people in my house like to have fun,” Garrett said last Friday. “My family and friends, they thought it would be something cool to do for Halloween.”
