BALTIMORE — Editor's note: the video in the player above is from a previous story.
Myles Garrett did his best to get to Lamar Jackson. But after the Baltimore Ravens quarterback successfully evaded Garrett -- as well as Jadeveon Clowney and Takkarist McKinley -- before finding tight end Mark Andrews for a 13-yard touchdown pass, the Cleveland Browns All-Pro defensive end had no choice but to give Jackson his props.
So before leaving the field, Garrett couldn't help but shake Jackson's hand, creating an unlikely visual in such a highly contested matchup between AFC North rivals.
Garrett's in-game congratulations underscored the impressiveness of Jackson's touchdown pass, which gave Baltimore a 13-3 lead with 9:48 remaining in the third quarter.
For as wild as Jackson's touchdown throw was, however, it may not even have been his most impressive pass to Andrews on the same drive.
Three plays earlier, the Ravens found themselves facing a third and four from their own 48-yard line. But rather than just go for a short first-down gain, Jackson opted to chuck it down the field, with Andrews reeling in an underhanded one-handed catch while being interfered with by Browns safety Ronnie Harrison.
The 39-yard gain set Baltimore up at Cleveland's nine-yard line, with Jackson proceeding to give the Ravens a two-score lead just two plays later. With Baltimore laying claim to a 7-3 record and the Browns entering Sunday 6-5, the outcome of Sunday's game will go a long way toward shaping the race in the AFC North heading into the final six weeks of the regular season.
