CLEVELAND — As the Cleveland Browns enter their bye week, they find themselves concerned about the status of their best player. According to Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, star defensive end Myles Garrett suffered a knee injury in Cleveland's 16-6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday and will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
Garrett suffered the injury in the second quarter of the contest and briefly left the contest and spent some time in the medical tent on the Browns' sideline. The No. 1 pick of the 2017 NFL Draft re-entered the game but didn't play on a full-time basis.
While Garrett said he was unsure of the severity of the injury, he said he would attempt to play through it so long as he can run and walk.
Garrett's injury came after a week in which he was sidelined for multiple practices due to an ankle injury. He recorded three tackles against the Raiders and failed to register a sack for the first game since Cleveland's season-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Entering Sunday, Garrett laid claim to NFL highs of nine sacks and four forced fumbles on the season. For his efforts, the Texas A&M product was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for the month of October.
Following their loss to the Raiders, the Browns fell to 5-3 on the season. After its upcoming bye week, Cleveland will return to host games against the Houston Texans (Nov. 15) and Philadelphia Eagles (Nov. 22).
