Watch: Nick Chubb touchdown gives Cleveland Browns 6-0 lead vs. Green Bay Packers

Nick Chubb's one-yard touchdown run gave the Cleveland Browns a 6-0 lead vs. the Green Bay Packers.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — In desperate need of a win to keep pace in a crowded AFC playoff picture, the Cleveland Browns entered their Week 16 matchup with the Green Bay Packers as a 7.5-point underdog.

But if the Browns are going to pull off a Christmas Day miracle, it looks like it will be Nick Chubb leading the way, as the running back accounted for 42 of his team's 75 yards on its opening drive, including a 1-yard touchdown to give Cleveland an early 6-0 lead after kicker Chris Naggar -- who is starting in place of Chase McLaughlin -- missed the ensuing extra-point attempt.

Chubb's helped set up his own touchdown on the Browns' second offensive play of the game by taking a screen pass from quarterback Baker Mayfield for 40 yards. The three-time Pro Bowl running back's big gain was only amplified by a personal foul penalty on Packers safety Darnell Savage, which gave Cleveland the ball at the Green Bay 14-yard line.

After Chubb proceeded to gain one yard on the next play, Mayfield found wide receiver Jarvis Landry for a 12-yard gain, giving the Browns the ball at the Packers' one-yard line. One play later, Chubb was in the end zone, giving Cleveland a 6-0 lead with 12:21 remaining in the first quarter.

Laying claim to a 7-7 record, Cleveland needs a win against the 11-3 Packers to keep pace in the AFC playoff picture. For all the latest from Lambeau Field on Saturday, follow our live blog.
