BEREA, Ohio -- In being traded to the Cleveland Browns, Odell Beckham Jr. has reunited with his former college teammate, Jarvis Landry.
Now another LSU Tiger is on his way to "The Land."
On Friday, the Browns selected LSU cornerback Greedy Williams with the No. 46 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. And it didn't take long for Beckham to celebrate the occasion, taking to his Instagram story to praise his new team's selection of a fellow former Tiger.
"Greedy!" an excited Beckham can be seen shouting in latest Instagram story. "Alright. Yes sir!"
In two seasons at LSU, Williams established himself as one of the -- if not the -- top cornerbacks in the country. As a freshman in 2017, he earned first-team All-SEC and third-team All-American honors before repeating first-team All-Conference and being named a consensus All-American for his play as a sophomore in 2018.
In 11 games last season, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound cornerback recorded 9 pass defenses and 2 interceptions. Although some have taken issue with his tackling -- and suggested it was the reason why he fell from the first to the second round in this year's draft -- Browns general manager John Dorsey insisted he's far from concerned with his newest player's ability to take down the opposition.
"Corners are paid to cover," Dorsey told reporters in Berea shortly after making his first selection of this year's draft. "And then the tackling aspect -- just get the guy down."
With their second-round selection in the books, the Browns' next schedule pick will come in the third round, where they lay claim to the No. 80 overall pick.
