A native of New Orleans, Odell Beckham Jr. has never been shy to share his pride of the school where he spent his college career, LSU.
But it will be at least two years until the Cleveland Browns star wide receiver returns to his alma mater, with Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger and Pat Forde reporting that LSU has banned Beckham from its facilities for the next two years.
According to Sports Illustrated, Beckham's ban comes as the result of his actions following the Tigers' win over Clemson in the College Football Playoff Championship Game in January. Following the national title game -- which took place in New Orleans -- Beckham could be seen handing out $100 bills to players, which constituted an NCAA violation.
Video of Beckham's actions proceeded to go viral, prompting an investigation from the school. Per Dellenger and Forde, Beckham distributed a total of $2,000 to players following the game and will also forfeit four scholarships in each of the next two years as a part of its self-imposed penalties, which could ultimately be increased by the NCAA.
In addition to his apparent payment of players, Beckham received attention for his actions in the Tigers' postgame locker room following their national title win.
After a video surfaced showing the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year appearing to slap a security officer on the rear end after the guard urged LSU players to stop smoking cigars during their postgame celebration in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, a warrant was issued for Beckham's arrest, although the officer ultimately opted not to press charges.
Now in his second year in Cleveland, the 27-year-old Beckham has tallied 16 receptions for 236 yards and three touchdowns in six games with the Browns this season.
