CLEVELAND — All season, Odell Beckham Jr. has taken the field in customized cleats that pay homage to some of his favorite sneakers.
But on Sunday, the Cleveland Browns wide receiver will pay tribute to something else: the Berea Animal Rescue Friends.
With Sunday marking Week 14 of the NFL season, players will be allowed to break away from their traditional footwear in favor of more colorful and playful designs as a part of the league's "My Cause, My Cleats" program. Never one to be outshined from a fashion standpoint, Beckham will wear a fur-covered version of his signature Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 3 OBJ Uptempo Cleat, designed to bring attention to the local animal shelter.
In addition to wearing the fur cleats in pregame warmups, Beckham will continue to wear the shoes during the Browns' matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. He won't be the only Cleveland player participating in the program either, with teammates paying tribute to causes including the Special Olympics, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the American Heart Association, among others.
