BEREA, Ohio — On the first day of the NFL's legal tampering period, the Cleveland Browns have reportedly agreed to terms with former Jacksonville defensive tackle Taven Bryan.
The deal, first reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, will be for one year and worth up to $5 million.
The 26-year-old Bryan comes to Cleveland after spending the first four years of his careet with the Jaguars. He was a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and went on to play in 63 games with Jacksonville, starting 17 of them.
Bryan has tallied 86 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 25 quarterback hits during his NFL career. He will help provide depth to a thin Browns defensive line. Promising young defensive tackle Malik McDowell was arrested in January and charged with aggravated battery of an officer and exposing himself in public. In addition, Malik Jackson will become a free agent this week. Bryan will be in the mix at defensive tackle along with former Ohio State DT Tommy Togiai as well as Jordan Elliott.
