CLEVELAND — After four days of concerns and frustrations and near panic, the Browns have put the negative chatter to rest, at least for now.
Cleveland managed to perhaps right the ship on its season with a valiant 17-14 win over the Denver Broncos on "Thursday Night Football." The team was without its starting quarterback and two top running backs, but did just enough to get back over .500 at 4-3.
The Browns didn't exactly look like a powerhouse, and the Broncos certainly aren't the best team they'll face all year. Still, it was an important moment given all the injuries and adversity Cleveland has faced since last weekend, and allowed fans to breathe a sigh of relief.
For those Orange and Brown supporters, it was more than enough, and many are expressing their joy on social media. Much of the praise has been directed at third-string running back D'Ernest Johnson (146 yards, TD), including from perhaps the most famous Browns fan on the planet.
