CLEVELAND — For Cleveland Browns fans looking for a preview of the 2019 season, the preseason has been relatively disappointing.
Baker Mayfield has played for just a little more than a half. Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry haven't played at all. And any sign of competitive football in Cleveland will seemingly have to wait until the start of the regular season on Sept. 8.
But fortunately for Browns fans, they don't have to wait another week to get amped up for Cleveland's highly anticipated 2019 campaign. Instead, they can watch a new hype video released by Twitter user @_CLEology, which perfectly encapsulates why this season is expected to be so special.
Titled "America's Team: The 2019 Cleveland Browns," @_CLEology's video features highlights from the creation of the Browns under founder Paul Brown, Jim Brown's emergence as a Hall of Fame fullback and the heyday of the Kardiac Kids. It then takes a turn as it recalls Art Modell's decision to move the franchise to Baltimore at the end of the 1995 season and the void it left Cleveland.
Spliced in between, however, are highlights of Baker Mayfield, Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward and Odell Beckham Jr.'s respective ascendances to football stardom. From there, the video culminates with highlights featuring Mayfield, Garrett and Ward from the past two seasons, as well as Cleveland's offseason acquisition of Beckham via a trade with the New York Giants.
Coming off a season in which it compiled a 7-8-1 record in 2018, the Browns enter the 2019 campaign favored to win the AFC North, which would mark the franchise's first division title since 1989.
