CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield married his fiancée, Emily Wilkinson, in Malibu, California Saturday night.
With family and friends, including several former University of Oklahoma and current Browns teammates, standing witness to their love, Baker and Emily became “The Mayfields” and officially started their journey through life together.
On Sunday, Mayfield shared a video to his Instagram page featuring him and Emily celebrating the momentous occasion.
“What’s up, everybody?” Mayfield said in the Instagram video. “Mr. Mayfield here with…Mrs. Mayfield. Oooooh, oh, my goodness. I’m married. We’re married.”
For the occasion, Mayfield wore a blue tuxedo with a white shirt and pink tie, while Wilkinson donned a strapless gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, veil and lengthy train.
Following the honeymoon, Mayfield will return to Cleveland for the start of his second professional training camp, one that opens up with lofty expectations among fans because of the acquisition of Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to go along with emerging playmakers in running back Nick Chubb and fellow pass catchers Jarvis Landry and Antonio Callaway.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Mayfield broke the rookie record with his 27th touchdown throw of the season with 3:24 remaining in the fourth quarter of a 26-24 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC North Division clash at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on December 30.
After taking over the first-team offense in the second quarter of a Week 3 win over the New York Jets, Mayfield completed 310 of his 486 attempts (63.8 percent) for 3,725 yards and 27 touchdowns against 14 interceptions.
Under the direction of new Browns coach Freddie Kitchens, the interim offensive coordinator for the second half of the 2018 season, Mayfield completed 180 of his 263 attempts (68.4 percent) for 2,254 yards and 19 touchdowns against eight interceptions.
