WATCH: Jerome Ford puts Cleveland Browns up early on Indianapolis Colts with 69-yard touchdown run

On just the third play from scrimmage, the second-year back out of Cincinnati found the hole and turned on the jets to give Cleveland the lead.

INDIANAPOLIS — Well how about that?

The main focus of Sunday's Browns game against the Indianapolis Colts seemed to be Deshaun Watson, who returned to start at quarterback after missing multiple weeks with a shoulder injury. Jerome Ford's here to get his touches, though.

On the first series of the game, Watson's first pass fell incomplete before Ford ran it right for eight yards. The second-year back out of Cincinnati got the ball again on third-and-2, but instead of moving the chains, he decided to deliver a thunderous first blow, dashing 69 yards untouched for the game's opening score to give Cleveland a 7-0 lead.

Since the injury to Nick Chubb in Week 2, Ford has become the Browns' feature back, and despite some ups and downs has served admirably in the role. Coming into this Sunday, the 23-year-old had carried the ball 67 times for 270 yards and a touchdown while also catching a pair of scores on the receiving end.

Unfortunately, Cleveland's lead didn't last long, as on the very next drive Gardner Minshew found a wide-open Josh Downs for a 59-yard TD. Watson then threw an interception, but the Browns' defense hold to keep the score at 7-7.
