BEREA, Ohio -- Odell Beckham Jr. said on Wednesday he feels the best he ever has both mentally and spiritually.
The Cleveland Browns' new star wide receiver happens to look pretty good too.
Taking part in the second day of the team's three-day minicamp, the 3-time Pro Bowl wide receiver continued to build his budding chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield. But during an otherwise mundane pass and catch drill, Beckham managed to make the ordinary look extraordinary as he leaped in the air to complete an incredible one-handed catch.
One-handed catches, of course, are nothing new for Beckham. After being selected by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the LSU product announced his presence as an immediate star with a diving one-handed touchdown catch during a Sunday Night Football matchup vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
In the time since, Beckham has continued to fill his highlight reel -- as well as stat sheets. Over the course of five seasons with the Giants, the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year tallied 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns, including 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and 6 scores a season ago.
Despite his obvious on-field success, Cleveland was still able to acquire the 26-year-old Beckham in a trade with the Giants in March. By doing so, the Browns became not just the favorites to win the AFC North, but a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
And based on the highlight catch he was able to provide in a simple drill on Wednesday, it's not difficult to understand why.
