CLEVELAND — The 2023 NFL Draft is less than a week away.
RELATED: More NFL coverage from WKYC
With that in mind, let's project all 31 first-round picks for the 2023 NFL Draft, which will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
1. Carolina Panthers (via Bears) - Bryce Young, QB, Alabama
The Panthers traded up to No. 1 with the intent of selecting their franchise quarterback. With one week to go until the draft, all signs strongly point to that player being Alabama's Bryce Young, who has seemingly separated from the rest of this year's quarterback class.
2. Houston Texans - Will Levis, QB, Kentucky
Despite the recent rumors, it's hard for me to imagine the Texans not using this pick on a quarterback. If they do that, all signs now point to Houston having zeroed in on Kentucky's Will Levis.
3. Arizona Cardinals - Will Anderson Jr., Edge, Alabama
I fully expect this pick to be traded -- especially if Houston takes Levis. If not, however, Arizona will be happy to grab the draft's top pass rusher, Will Anderson Jr., to serve as a building block in new head coach Jonathan Gannon's defense.
4. Indianapolis Colts - C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State
In all likelihood, the Colts would likely have to trade up to make this selection. But if the draft board falls this way, one would imagine that Indianapolis wouldn't be able to turn its draft card in fast enough to make C.J. Stroud its new franchise quarterback.
5. Seattle Seahawks (via Broncos) - Jalen Carter, DT, Seattle Seahawks
This could be a spot for another team to trade up to take a quarterback -- or for the Seahawks to do it themselves. But even with the off-field concerns, the likeliest outcome is Seattle taking Georgia's Jalen Carter, who many consider to be the top prospect in this year's draft.
6. Detroit Lions (via Rams) -Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois
After trading former No. 3 overall pick Jeff Okudah to the Falcons, the Lions could stand to add a corner. With his physical style, Devon Witherspoon makes for an ideal fit under Detroit defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.
7. Las Vegas Raiders - Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida
Given the early run on quarterbacks, the Raiders might have to trade up to make this pick. But it's easy to envision Las Vegas head coach Josh McDaniels being enamored with Anthony Richardson's skillset, and the Florida quarterback wouldn't have to play right away with Jimmy Garoppolo on the Raiders' roster.
8. Atlanta Falcons - Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech
One of the biggest risers in this year's draft, there's been buzz about Tyree Wilson going as early as No. 2. Atlanta would gladly jump at the chance to grab him if he's still on the board at No. 8.
9. Chicago Bears (via Panthers) - Nolan Smith, Edge, Georgia
Even after being one of the league's most aggressive teams in free agency, the Bears have needs across their defense. In Nolan Smith, Chicago would be adding a versatile, high-upside player who could anchor its defense for years to come.
10. Philadelphia Eagles (via Saints) - Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
Darius Slay is 32 and James Bradberry IV will be 30 when the season starts. It's easy to envision Philadelphia jumping at the chance to add Christian Gonzalez, who is considered by many to be the best cornerback in this year's class.
11. Tennessee Titans - Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State
There are plenty of ways to go with this pick, but wide receiver stands out as Tennessee's most glaring need. Despite not playing most of the 2022 season and primarily being a slot receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba has separated himself as the top player at his position in the class.
12. Houston Texans (via Browns) - Lukas Van Ness, Edge, Iowa
After getting its franchise quarterback at No. 2, the Texans turn their attention to the defensive side of the ball. Despite not even being a starter at Iowa, Lukas Van Ness has solidified himself as one of the top pass-rushers in the draft.
13. New York Jets - Paris Johnson Jr., OT, Ohio State
The Jets are in somewhat of a tricky spot, not being 100 percent certain yet that Aaron Rodgers will be their quarterback. Regardless of who's behind center, New York would be wise to add an offensive lineman as talented and versatile as Paris Johnson Jr. to its roster.
14. New England Patriots - Myles Murphy, Edge, Clemson
Wide receiver stands out as the Patriots' most glaring need, but the franchise has used a first-round pick on the position just once (N'Keal Harry in 2019) under Bill Belichick. In Myles Murphy, they would be adding a high-upside pass-rusher who could help alleviate some of the pressure from Matthew Judon, who will be 31 when the season begins.
15. Green Bay Packers -
Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU
The Packers haven't used a first-round pick on an offensive skill player since 2002 (Javon Walker) but Jordan Love needs all the help he can get entering his first season as the team's starting quarterback. At 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, Quentin Johnson would give Love a big-bodied target and could pair with Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs to give Green Bay a trio of promising young receivers.
16. Washington Commanders - Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia
Like the Packers, Washington has a first-year starter in Sam Howell who it will have to help set up for success. Broderick Jones could start his NFL career at right tackle, and ultimately succeed free agent signee Charles Leno Jr. as the Commanders' long-term left tackle.
17. Pittsburgh Steelers - Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State
As long as he's on the board, I have a hard time believing that the Steelers would pass on Joey Porter Jr., who not only fills a need at cornerback, but is the son of former Pittsburgh pass-rusher Joey Porter.
18. Detroit Lions - Calijah Kancey, DT, Pitt
The Lions enter the draft needing to make a splash on defense. Adding Witherspoon and Calijah Kancey -- who has been one of this draft's biggest risers -- would qualify.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers -
Bryan Breese, DL, Clemson
The start of the post-Tom Brady era in Tampa Bay is looking like a soft rebuild. A former No. 1 overall recruit, Bryan Breese is the type of high-upside prospect the Buccaneers should be looking to collect.
20. Seattle Seahawks -
Peter Skoronski, OL, Northwestern
This is later that Peter Skoronski is projected to get picked, but I could see a slide based on questions about his ability to play offensive tackle. For Seattle, the Seahawks could do worse than walking away from the first round with one of the best defensive linemen and one of the best offensive linemen in the draft.
21. Los Angeles Chargers - Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College
With questions regarding Austin Ekeler's future with the franchise, the Chargers could stand to add some more speed to its offensive. Zay Flowers fits the bill and would be an intriguing addition to a wide receiving corps that already includes Mike Williams and Keenan Allen.
22. Baltimore Ravens - Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland
I could see Baltimore going wide receiver here, but Odell Beckham Jr.'s salary shows that the Ravens are counting on him to be a major contributor. An in-state product, Deonte Banks would be a nice addition to a Ravens secondary that needs some improving.
23. Minnesota Vikings -
Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Edge, Kansas State
Minnesota could stand to add a pass-rusher. Kansas State's Felix Anudike-Uzomah checks off a lot of the boxes that would likely appeal to Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
24. Jacksonville Jaguars - Will McDonald IV, Edge, Iowa State
With Josh Allen entering the final year of his contract, it wouldn't be surprising to see Jacksonville prioritize adding a pass-rusher. Will McDonald IV's versatility and upside would make him a fun chess piece to play with along side last year's No. 1 overall pick, Travon Walker.
25. New York Giants - Jordan Addison, WR, USC
The Giants have a lot of bodies at wide receiver, but not a definitive No. 1. Despite some subpar testing, Jordan Addison possesses the talent to fill that void.
26. Dallas Cowboys - Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame
Every draft, that's one marriage that just seems obvious and winds up in every mock draft. This year, that seems to be the Cowboys using the No. 26 pick on Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer to fill the void left by Dalton Schultz.
27. Buffalo Bills - Brian Branch, S, Alabama
Jordan Poyer will be 32 when the season starts and Micah Hyde is entering the final season of his contract. The Bills have used the end of the first round to take swings on high-upside talent in recent years, and Alabama's Brian Branch is the best safety in this year's draft.
28. Cincinnati Bengals - Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas
Bijan Robinson has been one of the most polarizing prospects in this year's draft, and only because of the position he plays. The Bengals have been penciled in by many to take a tight end here, but the opportunity to add the best running back in the draft to an already loaded offense might be too good to pass up on.
29. New Orleans Saints - Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah
Derek Carr loves his tight ends. Dalton Kincaid is a dynamic receiver who could find an immediate role in the Saints' passing attack.
30. Philadelphia Eagles - Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee
We know that Philadelphia builds its roster from the inside. Darnell Wright would add versatility, upside and youth to the Eagles' offensive line.
31. Kansas City Chiefs - Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee
Jalin Hyatt isn't projected by most to be a first-round pick. But his dynamic ability may simply be too tempting for the defending Super Bowl champs to pass on as they look to replace Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
