DETROIT — While the 2023 NFL season is right around the corner, it's never too late to look ahead to the 2024 NFL Draft.
With that in mind, let's do our best to project all 32 picks in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, which will take place on April 25 in Detroit.
(Order determined by most-recent Super Bowl odds with tiebreakers based on season win total projections, via OddsShark)
1. Arizona Cardinals - Caleb Williams, QB, USC
The Cardinals have a good chance of walking away from the 2023 season with the No. 1 overall pick, whether it's with their own selection or the Houston Texans'. Either way, having the top pick will put Arizona in a position to take the draft's top prospect in USC quarterback Caleb Williams -- even if it means a messy exit for current QB Kyler Murray.
2. Arizona Cardinals (via Texans) - Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
It's not inconceivable to think that Arizona could have the top two picks in next year's draft. If that's the case, it's hard to imagine that one of those selections wouldn't be used on Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr., who possesses all the tools to be a dominant NFL receiver.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
It doesn't seem like either Baker Mayfield nor Kyle Trask will be Tom Brady's long-term successor in Tampa Bay. Taking North Carolina's Drake Maye could help accelerate the Buccaneers' post-Brady rebuild.
4. Indianapolis Colts - Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State
Now that the Colts have their quarterback of the future in Anthony Richardson, it's time to get him some more protection. After returning to Penn State following an impressive redshirt sophomore season, Olumuyiwa Fashanu looks like the top player at his position in the 2024 draft.
5. Washington Commanders - Jared Verse, Edge, Florida State
The Commanders' decision to decline the fifth-year option on Chase Young's rookie contract likely means his long-term future won't be in Washington. After opting to return to school in 2023, Jared Verse is the early favorite to be the top pass-rusher in the 2024 class.
6. Los Angeles Rams - Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama
Should the Rams keep this pick, it would mark their first first-round selection since taking Jared Goff with the No. 1 overall pick in 2016. After trading Jalen Ramsey this past offseason, Kool-Aid McKinstry would make for an ideal replacement for Los Angeles to build the future of its secondary around.
7. Chicago Bears (via Panthers) - J.T. Tuimoloau, Edge, Ohio State
The Bears ranked 31st in the NFL in sack percentage in 2022 and there isn't a lot of reason to believe Chicago's pass-rush will be vastly improved in 2023. A former 5-star recruit, J.T. Tuimoloau would provide the Bears' defensive line with the building block it has lacked since trading Khalil Mack.
8. Tennessee Titans - Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
After cutting Taylor Lewan, the Titans are poised to start two offensive tackles -- Andre Dillard and Chris Hubbard -- who have primarily been backups throughout their respective careers. Notre Dame's Joe Alt will challenge Fashanu as the top offensive tackle in the 2024 class.
9. Las Vegas Raiders - Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas
If the Raiders are picking in the top 10, then there's no reason to think they'd be in the market for a new quarterback. Still just 20 years old entering his junior season, Quinn Ewers could learn behind Jimmy Garoppolo for a season before taking over as Las Vegas' new franchise quarterback.
10. New York Giants - Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
The Giants' wide receiving corps leaves a lot to be desired. If not for his teammate, Harrison, Emeka Egbuka might be the top wide receiver in the 2024 class.
11. Atlanta Falcons - Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas
Despite consistently investing in offensive weapons, the Falcons lack a reliable receiver to pair opposite 2022 first-round pick Drake London. One of the most explosive players in the 2024 class, Xavier Worthy would add a new dynamic to Atlanta's offense.
12. Chicago Bears - Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
From a talent perspective, Brock Bowers is one of the best prospects in the 2024 class, but his positional value might push him down the board. Tight end isn't the most glaring need for the Bears, but with two first-round picks, Chicago can afford to take a swing on one of the top prospects in the draft.
13. Pittsburgh Steelers - Kalen King, CB, Penn State
Slated to start Levi Wallace and Patrick Peterson in 2023, the Steelers could stand to upgrade their secondary. Penn State's Kalen King is one of the top corners in the draft and would reunite with his college teammate, Joey Porter Jr., in Pittsburgh.
14. Green Bay Packers - JC Latham, OT, Alabama
If the Packers are going to stick with Jordan Love at quarterback, they'll need to continue to invest in protecting him upfront. Alabama's JC Latham possesses the talent and versatility to help do just that.
15. New England Patriots - Dallas Turner, Edge, Alabama
Regardless of who's coaching -- or playing quarterback for -- the Patriots in 2024, New England could stand to upgrade its pass rush. Dallas Turner is undersized, but possesses the talent to go much higher than this come next year.
16. Denver Broncos - Chop Robinson, Edge, Penn State
The Broncos' pass-rush rotation currently includes a pair of 30-year-olds in Randy Gregory and Frank Clark. Chop Robinson would make for an intriguing running mate to pair opposite the versatile Baron Browning.
17. Minnesota Vikings - J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan
Kirk Cousins is slated to hit free agency next offseason. With a strong junior season at Michigan, J.J. McCarthy would be well positioned to be a first-round pick.
18. New Orleans Saints - Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
Michael Thomas' future in New Orleans appears to be in flux. An in-state product, Malik Nabers could pair with Chris Olave to give the Saints' one of the most promising young receiver tandems in the league.
19. Houston Texans (via Browns) - Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
The Texans' wide receivers room leaves a lot to be desired. Rome Odunze has the size and talent to become a top target for C.J. Stroud.
20. Seattle Seahawks - Barrett Carter, LB, Clemson
Bobby Wagner is 33 and Jordyn Brooks has underwhelmed since being selected in the first round of the 2020 draft.
21. Detroit Lions - Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State
There isn't a reliable receiver on the Lions' roster not named Amon-Ra St. Brown. At 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, Keon Coleman could make for an ideal outside target to pair with St. Brown.
22. Jacksonville Jaguars - Patrick Paul, OT, Houston
With its franchise quarterback in place, Jacksonville could use a franchise left tackle to protect Trevor Lawrence's blind side. Patrick Paul possesses the necessary tools to fill that role.
23. Miami Dolphins - Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa
The Dolphins' secondary has gone from being one of the team's biggest strengths to one of its biggest question marks. Cooper DeJean's talent and versatility would be welcome additions in Miami.
24. Los Angeles Chargers - Ja’Tavion Sanders, TE, Texas
The Chargers can't go wrong getting Justin Herbert more weapons. With Gerald Everett entering the final year of his contract, Ja’Tavion Sanders would make for an ideal replacement as Los Angeles' top tight end.
25. Green Bay Packers (via Jets) - Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
Barring an injury to Aaron Rodgers, the Packers will likely have two first-round picks in 2024. A massive offensive tackle with no shortage of talent, Amarius Mims could make for an ideal building block as Green Bay continues into the post-Rodgers era.
27. Dallas Cowboys - Maason Smith, DL, LSU
DeMarcus Lawrence is 31 and only remains under contract in Dallas through the 2024 campaign. Should he bounce back from a torn ACL that brought his 2022 season to a premature end, Maason Smith should be one of the most intriguing defensive line prospects in the 2024 draft.
28. Cincinnati Bengals - Kamren Kinchens, S, Miami (Fla.)
Cincinnati's secondary stands out as one of the team's biggest question marks -- especially at the safety position. Having tallied six interceptions as a sophomore, Kamren Kinchens would provide the Bengals' with the type of difference-maker the back end of their defense currently lacks.
29. Buffalo Bills - Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas
Gabe Davis is slated to hit free agency next offseason and Stefon Diggs' future in Buffalo suddenly seems in question. A former 5-star prospect, Adonai Mitchell's size (6-foot-4) and talent make him an intriguing potential target for Josh Allen.
30. Philadelphia Eagles - Braelen Trice, Edge, Washington
As dominant as Philadelphia's defense has been, the Eagles could stand to add some youth at defensive end. Braelen Trice is a productive pass-rusher who would provide yet another weapon to Philadelphia's impressive unit.
31. San Francisco 49ers - Josh Newton, CB, TCU
While the 49ers' front-seven sets the tone, their secondary could use an upgrade. Josh Newton has all the tools to be one of the biggest risers in the 2024 class.
32. Kansas City Chiefs - Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
After losing Orlando Brown Jr. in free agency, the Chiefs need to invest in their offensive line. Tyler Guyton's size and athleticism would make an intriguing fit in Kansas City's offense.
