KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Northeast Ohio native is headed to the NFL.
During Round 3 of the 2023 NFL Draft, former Cuyahoga Valley Chrisitan Academy wide receiver Tre Tucker was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders as the 100th overall pick.
With the selection, Tucker became the eighth wide receiver to be drafted from the University of Cincinnati in the football program's history.
The speedy Akron native recorded 52 receptions, 672 yards and three touchdowns during the 2022 season. Tucker also notched two career kickoff return touchdowns with the Bearcats and 1,670 kick return yards, the third-most in school history.
He finished off his college career with 1,433 receiving yards and eight touchdowns as well as contributing to special teams coverage with 16 tackles.
The 5-foot-9 prospect ran a 4.4 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and had a 37.5 vertical leap.

During his time with the CVCA Royals, Tucker was a Northeast Ohio football star, finishing his high school career with 2,417 rushing yards and 1,922 receiving yards. Tucker also earned the career touchdown record at CVCA with 68.
Tucker will join an NFL squad filled with Northeast Ohio connections, including head coach Josh McDaniels, who graduated from Canton McKinley as well as John Carroll University. Raiders GM Dave Ziegler also has Northeast Ohio ties as a graduate of Talmmadge High School and John Carroll University.
