Celine Dion makes comeback performance during Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony

The "My Heart Will Go On" singer surprised the world with her performance in the "City of Love" on Friday.

PARIS, France — Superstar singer Celine Dion is in Paris! Just in time for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

Earlier this week, there was much speculation about whether the "My Heart Will Go On" singer would perform in the "City of Love." 

On Friday, she indeed surprised the world with a comeback performance. 

Is Celine Dion performing at the Paris Olympics?

On Wednesday, the "Queen of Power Ballads" herself took to social media to post photos in front of Paris' iconic national art museum, the Louvre.

"Every time I return to Paris, I remember there’s so much beauty and joy still to experience in the world. I love Paris, and I’m so happy to be back! Thank you to our wonderful friends at The Louvre!" Dion wrote on Instagram.

Earlier this week, NBC News reported that both Celine Dion and Lady Gaga were spotted in the host city close to the events. Variety also reported about Dion's return to the stage at the Olympic Games after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022.

This isn't the pop legend's first time in the world spotlight on the Olympics stage. Back in 1996, Dion performed at the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta
